Stretch Marks

Often, the first time you notice stretch marks on your body is when you are pregnant or after you have just lost or gained considerable weight.

Basically, stretch marks appear when the skin is stretched or distended. Stretch marks typically look like uneven layers of pigmentation in the skin.

First, the good news: stretch marks are not harmful to your skin’s health.

Now, the bad news: no perfect treatment exists today.

Creams containing Tretinoin (SkinUSA Anti-Aging cream) can help if used over several months.

Pulsed-dye lasers can help when the stretch marks are reddish (fresh).

A tummy tuck can be very helpful if the condition is accompanied by loose skin.

Liposuction, massages and exercises are not effective for treating this condition.
